WIP - Knitted Striped Blanket

I admit that I'm a little stripes crazy right now. I started this blanket as an easy commuting project (yay two row repeat!)...and I'm now working on it almost exclusively, even at home. I'm obsessed! But I have good reason - look how cute it is:

The plan is for it to be three colors - the wine color on the bottom, white in the middle, and a lavender purple on the top, all even blocks of color. I'm pretty in love with how the zig zag pattern is coming together:

The yarn is Caron Simply soft. This is one of the only exceptions I make with regards to using natural yarns - Caron is all acrylic but it has a really nice sheen, is super soft, and is machine washable. It doesn't have a scratchy feel and drapes really well. I've used it on several projects and have always been happy with the result, and the blanket is shaping up to be more of the same.

I even love the back where the colors join and it makes a little two color row:

I have a feeling this is going to turn out to be another project I'm going to want to keep :).
