I haven't cross stitched in quite a while, but my recent embroidery excursions made me remember how much I like needlework. So, in true me fashion, I've decided to plunge right back in by cross stitching Van Gogh's "Starry Night". I found a great pattern on Craftsy, which for some reason I thought would be no sweat. Um...this is one page...out of 12!
Okay, so I was a little intimated. But I really love the pattern and I think it will look really cool when I'm done, so I went ahead and started anyway. I ended up having to draw myself a grid on the fabric because the boxes are so tiny and I kept getting mixed up.
This represents about a week and a half's worth of work (off and on), so it's going to be a very long term project. I'm really happy with the colors, though:
and it gave me an excuse to fill out my floss stash!
I also finished another pair of wrapped headphones. I gave the blue ones to my husband Kyle, and he's been happily using them for a couple of months now, so I decided it was about time I made myself a pair...in pink, of course.
I used ribbon this time, instead of embroidery floss. I was happy with how the blue pair turned out but it took way too long. The ribbon took half the amount of time and looks just as good, so that's what I'd recommend if you're thinking of fancying up your own!
